It has been years since the repressive Taliban regime was ousted in Afghanistan, but little seems to have improved for the country’s women who are rarely seen, let alone heard in public. But a group of demure teenage girls is challenging the country’s conservative traditions by forming the first female boxing team. Hoping to compete in the 2012 London Olympics where women’s boxing is slated to be introduced for the first time, the girls are already packing quite a punch in Afghan society. Voiced report.
