This week, Tom Hawley is looking back at some likely Las Vegas entries in the mob museum. Organized crime here was white collar in some cases, very violent in others and it wasn't always under the radar. When the mob was at perhaps the peak of its earning power and influence in Las Vegas in the late 70s there were some tourists who found it glamorous, and even today, there is some nostalgia. But law enforcement officials at the time who we talked to recently agree that nostalgia is misplaced. These were bad people and the general public didn't really know what was going on.  « Less
