KINGSTON- Three juniors are making a video on peer pressure and how the media influences behavior in a program led by former film producer Mary Farel. REEL Girls!, a program of the national organization, Girls Incorporated, teaches girls leadership and other skills through the medium of making videos of issues of concern in the community. The girls, Elisia Bryant, Naimah Muhammad and Nyasia Mayers, all 16, chose the issue of peer pressure and interviewed and filmed school psychologist Cat Coleman and Cathryn Timbrouck, school social worker, as well as other students on the issue. Farel said when the video is completed and edited, the girls will post it on YouTube for students and the greater Kingston community to view. « Less
