A member of the tennessee highway patrol is being remembered today, a day after he was killed in a motorcycle accident. trooper joe snipes was off duty, when the motorcycle that he was driving with his wife, collided with a bradley county road department truck. wdef news 12's alisha searl shows us how his co-workers are coping with this loss in our top local story. a community in mourning. troop c .. in bradley county .. has one less less man on this day .. one less family member. joe was was conscientious about everything he did. he was always afraid he'd make somebody mad. he was always like, you're not mad at me? i said, no joe, i couldn't be mad at you for long. lieutenant tommie graham has worked alongside trooper snipes for about 9 years. both friends had the day off thursday, and both were preparing to go to a retirement dinner in chattanooga. but before that, trooper snipes was taking his wife, shelia and dog to his mother-in-law's house. however, while taking the back roads, he collided with a bradley county road department truck.the motorcycle struck behind the driver's door at the front area of the truck where the tools are kept. trooper snipes was the only one who didn't survive.speed did not appear to be a factor, nor did the use of intoxicants by anyone involved. now, with heads hung low, and tears in their eyes, they map out trooper snipes' wreck. not many words are exchanged, these badges speak for themselves. when you met him, you liked him. trooper snipes had only been married about a year when this happened, his wife boasted on her facebook wall just this week saying quote .. my husband just got saved at church last night. she can depend on us as part of her family. family .. it's that six letter word that means a little bit more to everyone on this solemn day. in bradley county, alisha searl, wdef news 12. the cause of the wreck is still under investigation. trooper snipes' wife is listed in fair condition at this time.  « Less
