Dickinson State is getting closer to finding a new mens head Basketball coach. The school has made numerous phone interviews and have now narrowed their search down to two. According to DSU athletic director Roger Ternes, University of North Dakota assistant coach Chris Johnson was on campus today interviewing for the job. Johnson is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Fighting Sioux men's basketball team. Prior to joining the UND coaching staff, Johnson spent the 2004-05 season as head coach at Culver-Stockton College, an NAIA school in Canton, Mo. In his lone season as head coach, Johnson led the Wildcats to a 16-15 record. Prior to arriving at Culver-Stockton, Johnson served as an assistant coach at Minot State from 2001-04. Before that he served as an assistant at Minnesota State, Mankato (1999-2001) and Central College (1998-99) in Pella, Iowa. The other finalist is Ty Orton, the head mens coach at McCook Community College in McCook, Nebraska.  « Less
