Bidding on the annual power lunch with the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett, closes today at 10:30 p.m., with the top bid remaining at $2.35 million since Tuesday. It remains to be seen whether anyone is willing and able to top last year's record setting bid of $2.6 million. The winning bidder will have lunch with Buffett, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc (NYSE:BRK.B), and up to seven guests of the winner's choosing at the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse in New York City. The proceeds from the one of a kind auction will go to Glide; a San Francisco Bay area organization that benefits poverty stricken residents. Buffett said, in a video on Glide's Web site, "We do raise money, and money counts, so I urge people to unbutton their wallet, to pull out a check, to reach into the purse, whatever it takes, and contribute," Buffett said that he supports Glide because "they took the people that the rest of the world had forgotten, people who'd given up on themselves. And they felt that every human being had potential, no matter what their circumstance."  « Less
