Being on a reality show can chance your life. That's according to So You Think You Can Dance season 7 runner-up Kent Boyd. Boyd is from Wapakoneta, Ohio. He recently returned to his hometown for a special performance. The production, “Kent Boyd Comes Home” was Kent Boyd's first ever attempt to produce and choreograph his own dance production. "This helps keep me grounded. It reminds me where I came from and where I am now. So it’s just great," said Boyd after taking the stage at the Wapak Performing Arts Center. Since appearing on SYTYCS season 7, Kent's world has been turned upside down. Kent now calls Los Angeles home, and says his stint on reality TV has opened doors for him quicker than he ever dreamed. "I'm going all across the U.S. I was just in Minnesota and Utah, then Michigan. Next week I'll be in Dallas teaching," said Boyd. "I'm more focused on acting. So I'm taking acting classes and doing auditions for Disney and stuff like that. About a month ago I was on ‘Shake It Up Chicago’ so just going in that director." Fellow reality show dancers Robert Roldan, Allison Holker and Alex Wong and joined Boyd for the homecoming performance. All of them are now enjoying the benefits of playing a national stage. "So many doors have opened and never have I ever though,” said Boyd. “It is crazy to think my life just took a 180. I'm blessed and I'm happy."
