Feb. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Energy Secretary Steven Chu talks with Bloomberg’s Carol Massar about the decision by the U.S. to loan $8.33 billion to Southern Co. and its partners today in a push to license the first new nuclear power plant in three decades. President Barack Obama announced today that Atlanta-based Southern will be the first to get federal aid under a five-year-old law aimed in part at helping add nuclear stations.
