Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Nicholas Heymann, an analyst at Sterne Agee & Leach Inc., discusses the outlook for General Electric Co. General Electric reported today that fourth-quarter profit exceeded analysts’ estimates as the order backlog rose and the company benefited from a tax gain and cost-cutting efforts including job reductions. Profit from continuing operations fell 22 percent to $3.03 billion, or 28 cents a share, from $3.87 billion, or 36 cents, a year earlier, GE said in a statement.
