Pick up your knitting needles and head to and old-fashioned knit in this weekend at the downtown Grand Rapids YMCA. The day long drive to create scarves, hats and mittens to give as Valentine's gifts to the men and women at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans is the brainchild of Ashley Gremel, a teenager who founded Cast off the Cold a couple of years ago.
