A 34-year-old New Mexico man is caught red-handed living with a 13-year-old girl. The teen ran away from her albuquerque home about a week ago. The man is now in jail facing several charges -- including rape. Jeff maher spoke exclusively with the man's parents -- who blame the teen for what happened. Jeff. The parents of carlos nuanez say they would always see their son bring girls to their meadowlake home -- but they tell us the girls alwaysppeared to be over the age of 18, including the most recent one -- who turned out to be a 13- year-old runaway. "he brings girls all the time, and i can't ask everybody, are you 18 or not, you know?" Santiago and yolanda nuanez are not saying their 34-year-old son carlos is innocent -- but they say the young girl he was caught with last night at their house could have saved herself by simply speaking up. "i know he got into a mess, but she came here on her own free will" "i feel bad, but she should have said something, if she would have told me she was 13, i would have called her parents and i don't even have their phone number" The valencia county sheriff says nuanez and the teen met on myspace in july. About a week ago she ran away from home. The sheriff says her father came across messages between his daughter and nuanez, and went to the sheriff's office yesterday with pictures of nuanez. One of the deputies recognized him -- they went to his parents house, and found both nuanez and the girl. He facing several charges, including seven counts of rape. Did you know they were having sex? No, he's in his room and i can't go in there" Nuanez's father says the girl ran away from home because her father beat her. "she was staying here by herself, nobody forced her to stay here, and i thought she was 18, he's 34, so i didn't want to interfere, i can't ask everybody who comes here - are you 18? If you're not 18 you're not welcome" Carlos nuanez has a long rap sheet, his father tells us he was also on probation. The girl is back at home with her family in albuquerque. Back to you.
