It's been a rough ride, but things are starting to shine brighter on the horzion. After a crash in the beginning of 2009, dairy prices are finally starting to rebound. Elvin Hollon with Dairy Farmers of America says the rebound is in response to improvements in demand, slight impovements in the economy and more than 300-thousand cows being taken out of production. The Class 3 market price in October was $12.82. Hollon expects that price to be about than $13.50 in November. And to reach 15 dollars by December. He says 2010 looks to bring even more improvements with prices expected to be between 15 and 18 dollars. That puts prices directly paid to the farmers between 16 and 19 dollars. « Less
