The man arrested yesterday morning in the community of Navajo, New Mexico is not being charged with the murder of a 64-year-old nun. Navajo police report that the man, Reeahlio Nathan Carroll, will be arraigned today on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal damage to property in connection with the death of Sister Marguerite Bartz over the weekend. Bartz’s body was found in her Navajo home Sunday morning by an acquaintance who had gone to check on her after she failed to show up for mass. Officials believe that Bartz was killed sometime Saturday evening or Sunday morning. The cause of death is trauma endured during a violent conflict. Bartz’s missing Honda SUV was discovered earlier this week in eastern Arizona. Navajo police say that Carroll, 18, was seen in Bartz’ vehicle. The Navajo Police Department said in a press release that it is now releasing information because of a concern for public safety. « Less
