Attorneys representing D.C. sniper John Allen Muhammad are asking the Supreme Court to stop his execution. Muhammad is scheduled to die next week in a Virginia prison for his role in the shooting spree around the Washington DC. area that left 10 people dead. In court papers his legal team argues that the original trial attorney was ineffective. Muhammad and his teenage accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo who was sentenced to life in prison, are also suspected of fatal shootings in other states, including Louisiana and Alabama. « Less
