There's only hours left...before thousands of people across the country transform themselves for Halloween. Reporter Kate Schell travels to Party America to find out what's hot this season. It's a spook-tacular event that anyone and everyone can have fun with... (Lisa Sailer/Party America) "We had one guy in here last weekend and they were shopping to go out together and they both got pirates and they were 80-years-old so, yea, all extremes, all ages." For many Halloweeners....the costume planning process started a couple of weeks ago. (Lisa Sailer/Party America) "They have already started asking us almost a month ago what we had in costumes. And just the last, well the first of October everybody's been coming in and doing cotumes. It hasnt stopped." According to the National Retail Federation, the average consumer will spend 10 dollars less this year on Halloween itemsalthough, that doesn't seem to be the case here at Party America. (Lisa Sailer/Party America) "Sales are much better this year. People are apt to accesorize with their costumes. They're adding on. They're getting the costume and we are able to add on to it and there is no hesitation." Sales associates at Party America say they feel the increase in sales is due in part to Halloween falling on a Saturday. Besides the increase in sales, the store is also seeing a difference in the who's dressing up this year.. (Lisa Sailer/Party America) "A lot more adult costumes this year than we have had in previous years. Its phenomenal how high and how many they've had." So..what are they going as? (Lisa Sailer/Party America) "The hot items this year have been a lot of the characters like the Cat-in-the Hat, the Luigi, the Mario. Not pretty much the pirates and stuff. It's just pretty much the characters." Lisa says if you're not looking to go all outthere are still ways to have fun while saving money. She suggests just adding accesories to a normal outfit to transform your look.
