A partnership is formed... Now a committee will research the idea of the High Prairie Arts and Science Center moving to the World War Memorial Building in downtown Bismarck. Tonight, the Bismarck City Commission votes unanimously to work with the Bismarck Park Board and user groups of the facility on the project. The arts and science center opened five years ago...a handful or organizations work out of the building in northwest Bismarck. However, the groups say space issues are restricting what they can do. (Paul Quist/ President, Bismarck Park Board) "we always come with the attitude that kids come with a certain amount of energy and they are going to use it and are we going to teach them how to paint on a piece of canvass or are they going to spray paint the bridge." The other option being considered is to add onto the existing arts and science center. This has been talked about since the Bismarck Parks and Recreation Department bought the building in 2005.  « Less
