They're third in the State... but with just three more wins, the Century Patriots can finish FIRST in the State, as the football team prepares for the playoffs. Century has the second seed from the West.... and has won their last three. The Pats lost just twice during the regular season, and both of those teams are alive in postseason play... meaning there might be opportunity an for revenge in the rematches. However, first, Century has to get by Grand Forks Red River and that's something they aren't taking lightly. "(Ron Wingenbach:) We have got to put points on the board. I think Red River is a very explosive football team and we have to control the chains so to speak and that and turnovers, it is the same ingredients every time you get into this part of the season. The team that turns the ball over the least and can sustain some drives and put points on the board and play solid defense, they are the ones that will come out on top. (Jesse Kartes:) We know that they like to run the ball. They have a good running back and they have a good quarterback who is just a young kid. (Bruce Govig:) We just need to be able to stop the run. We know that they only pass it 10-to-15 times a game, so if we can stop them on the ground, we will be allright. " Running back Zach Emil has a high ankle sprain... he's day-to-day. The Patriots play the later part of a doubleheader at the Community Bowl on Friday, as they'll host Grand Forks Red River, with a kickoff time set for 7:30 p.m. central. Earlier in the day, Bismarck High is at home, with Fargo North heading west. They'll face each other at 4:30. Also in the 3A quarters, Dickinson duels Fargo South and Minot matches up with West Fargo. Both games will now be played on Friday at the Fargodome.  « Less
