The first North Dakotan has died from H-1-N-1... A man from Northwestern North Dakota is the first H1N1 related death in the state... Health officals say he is older than sixty and had underlying medical conditions. No other information is being released to protect his identity. Around the nation more than 1,000 people have died from H1N1. Health officials say the H1N1 strain is widespread around the state. It is also more contagious. They estimate that about 92 percent of the flu going around North Dakota is H1N1. Health officials encourage you to get vaccinated if it's available to you... (Kirby Kruger) "And the fact that H1N1 vaccine is slow to arrive in the state has been a frustrating experience for ourselves and providers. We want people to know it's coming into the state and we do anticipate that all those who want to be vaccinated will be able to receive vaccine." While more H1N1 vaccine is coming into the state every week Kruger says it will take several weeks before it is available to everyone.
