balloon fiesta organizers are still tallying this year's attendance numbers, but they do know they set a new record for the number of people who used park and ride. and now some of those people who bought their tickets online, are realizing they were charged too much. jeff maher is live in the newsroom to explain what happened. jeff. tens of thousands of people who chose not to drive to balloon fiesta park and wait in those long lines went online to buy their park and ride tickets. they got a discounted price for doing that, but some also got double-billed. this year 68- thousand balloon fiesta park and ride tickets were sold online. that's 14- thousand more than last year. miriam rand is one of those who decided the park and ride was the best way to go "i think it's the easiest way to do the balloon fiesta, you don't have to wait in traffic, and it's safe and sort of fun to be with people who are looking forward to being part of balloon fiesta" she didn't have any problems buying the tickets online. others did. in fact, so many people went online during the weekends and special shapes events, that the system froze -- causing some people to submit their credit card information twice -- so, they were double-billed "i didn't hear that, i'm surprised it didn't happen to me" and that wasn't the only problem "and sometimes if the tickets were printed, they were printed without a barcode, so they were asked to bring those tickets to the remote lots and we would honor those tickets" kathy leyendecker, with balloon fiesta, says the technical staff fothe event is already working out the kinks for next year, and trying to find ways to prevent double billing from happening again the people who have come forward with double-billing problems have been fully reimbursed if there are still people out there who did get double-charged, will they get their money back at this point? absolutely, and if they haven't yet contacted balloon fiesta or emailed balloon fiesta, please do so, and that will be taken care of" if you were double-billed, we've got the information you need to contact balloon fiesta to get reimbursed  « Less
