she says her daughter showed no symptoms of the h-1-n-1 flu until the day she died from it. tonight we talk to the mother of the 5 year old rio rancho girl who passed away earlier this week. eric kahnert is here with more... eric? the mother of 5 year old trinity olivares took her to the hospital on monday because she was vomiting. a few hours later her heart stopped beating. trinity's family found out yesterday she tested positive for h-1-n-1. family and friends make their way into the church where a rosary was held for 5 year old trinity olivares -- one of the latest new mexicans to die from the h-1-n-1 virus. before the somber services we met with trinity's mother. 54:47 "she was an energy ball, a very soft spoken little girl.-3" danelle olivares says trinity started to feel sick monday. 55:32 "the only symptom i can say she had was just vomiting.-4" looking pale, trinity's family rushed her to the hospital. 56:42 "she was looking really dehydrated so we decided to take her in, took her to the hospital, they put her on iv's right away, and started giving her fluids, at that point we thought she was going to be okay.--12" but a few hours later, trinity's condition worsened. 56:58 "just all of a sudden her heart just stopped all of a sudden, it was very fast.-8" the kindergartner at rio rancho elementary passed away on monday. on thursday rio rancho public schools alerted parents. trinity's father is a custodian and mail carrier for the district. trinity also leaves behind two brothers. 58:19 "it's vary scary, it's scary because you don't think it's going to happen to your own, you don't think it's going to happen to your family, your kids.-6" olivares says her daughter was a healthy child and just learned to write her first and last name -- and was trying to tackle her address. 59:15 "the last things she said is i want water and her legs hurt, i rubbed her legs as much as i could.-10" we asked the rio rancho school district if they saw an increase in the number of students absent today ... but we were never called back with that information. the spokesperson did say that the district has taken precautions to protect students from getting sick. « Less
