This morning, the Conference Board released its monthly figures on consumer confidence and economists were surprised to find consumer confidence fell in September. With a reading of 54.5 in August, economists were looking for the index to climb to about 57 in September, but were surprised to see the index fall to 53.1 instead. « Less
