While there's no danger to humans it can affect your pet. The flu strain has been around for six years but it has recently been affecting dogs in the midwest. Until this year it's primarily affected pets on the east and west coasts. I think if your animal is sick and your pet is showing symptoms of a potential case based on a respiratory problem that's getting worse and maybe you know you're pet isn't vaccinated at all.
