Today the teachers get a break as Ducks Unlimited Scientists are taking care of the lesson plan. And means alot to them and it is great for us to see their energy and gives us some real positive feedback and motivates us for what we are doing as well.andamp;quot; The students are learning about the prairie the ducks live on, the water they swim in and the delicacies they enjoy. (Keisha Lehde / Sophomore) andamp;quot;What I think I will remember the most is all the little bugs that we were looking at.andamp;quot; At station 1 students check out duckfood like bugs and freshwater shrimp. Station 2 is the native prairiediscovering the 10-thousand years history of the blanket of grass that carpets the landscape. Station 3 is all about the birds and their nests. They don't fight over their habitat as much with different species as they do a certain type of species.andamp;quot; Today's lesson is a three way winfor the scientists, teachers and the students. It doesn't mean as much on paper as it does out here. And the people at Ducks Unlimited were gracious enough to have some instructors out here who know a heck of a lot more about the ecosystem than I will ever know. You get to see the prairie and you don't really see much of this in town and so that is nice to see all the different animals and stuff.
