god... who touched countless lives. news 13's kaitlin mccarthy has more from gallup. sister marguerite bartz was a woman who gave herself to god and the community. today...it was they. community's turn to honor her. so many mourners crowded inside the sacred heart cathedral inra gallup...it was standing room only. and .as we learn more about the woman, it's not hard to understand why. she was an angel, s ngshe was god's gift to us. but that gift was taken away last weekend...when sister bartz w as murdered in her navajo home. those left behind, are left wondering why? i believe the legacy she leaves is the one she t received from christ. and that is. a legacy of peace, of justice, of love, and of , forgofiveness, i think that's a hard one at this time. she was my mentor sister bartzsi helped philana booque through a tough time in school .me i did receive an award because of her, her help. bishop wall saysop he is grateful sister bartz's story is being y spread acrossre new confronted him h when he was burglarizing her home last weekend. carroll told police he was looking for money to buy alcohol and drugs. news 13 has learned that carroll may have tried to commit suicide this morning inside his cell at the window rock jail. authorities in arizona will not confirm or deny the suicide attempt. we are told they will not be able to comment until monday. carroll appeared inar court in windownd rock yesterday... on unrelated auto theft charges, and charges related to the theft of the nun's vehicle. the f-b-i is still i waiting to take him into custody for the they were warned about break-ins..in whether or not--it's the same person responsible will be determined bybe police.. but..this time...the suspect did not get away. ...16.40.44 he just didn't get in hiker wednesday night, about 20 minutes after 911 was called another call came in to report a missing person >> as it turned out the missing person was the body that had been found >> detectives believe willmore fell, although at this point they're still trying to figure out exactly what caused his accident. willmore who lived in highland was a senior at lone peak high school, straight a what's most alarming about this crime... it happened be hind the state's 9-1-1 ce every fire, medical me or police emergency call is sdispatched! ey ewitness news reporter kathryn sotnik has thetn breaking details from the mobile newsroom. it is very ironic - and horrifying story tonight.. this teen walking to see her mom when she was kidnapped and raped. a police dog scours the woods near the state 9- 1-1 call center on smith street in north providence. police say minutes earlier a nineteen year y old girl was walking down smith street heading toward centre wi th a knife kidnapped her - her throat - and forced her behind the call center where she was raped... leaving neighbors saturday stunned... "i can't believe it happened right across the street right in broad daylight you know...." chris l'europa owns a car repair business directly across the street. chris l'europa, l'euros pa auto repair "all the 9-1 calls in the state go to that building right there... apparently she was raped in the back of that building." b "t he state 911 call center has c four exterior cameras outside - - police say only one of which was wo and police say other ersurveillance cameras nearby also didn't o 'thelp... "we've got cameras on the building unfortunately that didn't help them.. maybe they just got the street stover here." smithfield and johnston police were called in to help search for the suspect... after the assault police say the victim ran to a nearbyea business who then called for help. and the suspect ran off on foot police say toward provide nce. "you would never think... it just blows my mind." the victim was just recently release from women and infants hopsital. police say they do have a person of interest on tonight. he's described as a man possibly in his twenties with a dark complexion -possibly hispanic. he was wearing dark colored clothes... possibly a red shirt with a black coat over his head. <object
